Description — Semi-arid

Semi-arid habitat is dry thornveld and sparse grassland that is not true desert — Namibia’s central plateau edges, parts of the Kalahari fringe, Karoo transitions and similar country. Rainfall is low and unreliable; vegetation is open and tough.

Hunting days emphasise glassing, long stalks and managing heat. Vehicles cover ground between water points; stalks often start after a distant spot. Dust, wind and hard light are constants.

Semi-arid sits between grassland/savanna and desert on the brochure. Ask about annual rainfall, water sources and whether mountain or rocky outcrops break the flats.
