Rocky outcrop habitat is the hunting label for kopjes, granite domes, cliffs and broken stone country. It rarely covers an entire concession; instead it sits as islands inside grassland, savanna or semi-arid ranchland.

Species that prefer rock — klipspringer especially — draw hunters to these features. Tactics are glassing-led: find the animal on a ledge, then plan an approach that does not silhouette you on the skyline.
